Track record
Live and simulated. Never mixed.
Two sources, kept apart: our FTMO account traded live by the engine, and a multi-year historical simulation. Every number carries its label.
SimulatedHistorical simulation
The Nasdaq, recalculated year by year.
How NasdaqBand Tempo would have traded on historical Nasdaq 100 prices – calculated, not traded. Years and key figures before and after assumed execution costs.
Annual returns 2020 – 2025 · before execution costs
Bars: before execution costs. Below: the separate simulation with assumed spreads and slippage – it shifts entry and exit prices, so a year can also come out better after costs. Profits compounded.
| Year | before execution costs | after costs |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | +36.2 % | +31.9 % |
| 2021 | +32.4 % | +30.2 % |
| 2022 | +32.7 % | +29.2 % |
| 2023 | +21.6 % | +29.5 % |
| 2024 | +12.3 % | +12.4 % |
| 2025 | +16.6 % | +11.6 % |
per year before execution costs

FTMO 2-Step in the simulation
A start on the 1st of every month 2019–2026, phase 1 with a 10 % target, phase 2 with 5 %, at least 4 trading days per phase. The starts overlap and are not independent customer results.
| before costs | after costs | |
|---|---|---|
| Both phases passed (92 starts) | 80 % (74 / 92) | 72 % (66 / 92) |
| Fastest pass of both phases, days | 32 | 32 |
| One in four passed challenges within, days | 86 | 89 |
| Median duration of both phases, days | 148 | 152 |
| Phase 1 alone, median, days | 84 | 84 |
| Ended by the engine's loss brake | 0 | 20 |
| FTMO rule violations | 0 | 0 |
Key figures of the simulation
| before costs | after costs | |
|---|---|---|
| Total trades | 1'308 | 1'292 |
| Winning trades | 37 % | 37 % |
| Avg. winner relative to avg. loser | 2.2 × | 2.1 × |
| Profit factor | 1.27 | 1.22 |
| Return per year (whole period) | 19.3 % | 16.4 % |
| Largest drawdown from peak | 14.5 % | 16.3 % |
Only 37 % of trades end in profit – in return, an average winner brings in about twice what an average loser costs. Typical of trend following.
What this simulation is not
- Not trading with real money. A historical simulation is made with hindsight and has inherent limits.
- It uses price data that was also used to develop the strategy. The test on untouched data is still outstanding.
- Figures before execution costs always appear next to the figures after assumed costs. Real costs may differ.
- No promise that a challenge will be passed, how long it takes or what it earns. Trading with leverage can lead to the loss of the capital used or of the challenge fee.
Historical simulation of NasdaqBand Tempo on real Nasdaq 100 price data (OANDA), calculated with the same strategy and risk settings the engine uses live on our FTMO challenge today – only without a challenge target, so every year runs in full. Profits compounded, before and after assumed execution costs. Not a live result and no guarantee for the future.
